Happy Thanksgiving 2014
If you are reading this post I would like to take a moment and wish you a joyous and fulfilled Thanksgiving holiday with your family, friends, and loved ones. I know how special this day can be for so many people, and as a young boy I was raised under a different faith where I wasn’t allowed to celebrate the holidays in my household, but I understand how important family is on this very special day. Thanksgiving is a day of feasting with family and a day to reflect and relax from all of the hard work that we all are so consumed with throughout the year.
Amidst all of the unfortunate happenings in Ferguson my heart and prayers are with all of the organizers of the protests across the country that are taking away from their family time to stand for justice and what’s right.
Also consider that Thanksgiving is a holiday that historically was formed of the idea that one would give proclamation to God for all of the great things that occurred in ones own life. This is still true today of the holiday, which is why prayer and glorifying God before eating is a very long-standing ritual of the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States.
Happy Thanksgiving, to you, and praying for peace and happiness on today!
